What to bring
Bed sheets and towels, plus tea towels. There are four single beds, each with two pillows and a selection of blankets/bedspreads. There are several duvets of various sizes and weights. If you do forget anything, there are normally spares available: ask Alison if you can’t find what you need.
Sleeping bags/hot water bottles/electric blankets. The building gets cold at night, particularly outside of the summer season. There are two portable heaters for you to use, and a couple of hot water bottles (look for them under the kitchen sink), but we advise that you bring extra sources of warmth if the night-time temperature is likely to be below 10 degrees.
Wellies. The footpath often floods outside of the summer season. Better to leave them unused in your car than to have soggy feet!
Change for the car park. The meters are coin only, although it is possible to pay by card when the Martham Boats reception is open.
Food and drink. A few basics are kept in stock (teabags, seasoning, cooking oil, etc) but you will need to bring what you plan to eat: the nearest shops are over a mile away. N.B., if you order a supermarket delivery, give them the postcode NR29 4RF to receive your order from the Martham Boats car park.
